All Back No Front #5

To mark London’s upcoming Independent Label Market, ABNF#5 is scattered with a few things that I expect to fly off the stalls this weekend.

There’s also a Guest Informant interview with Joe Daniel – co-founder of the event and man behind the Angular Recording Corporation – during which we discuss the origins, risk, logistics and political wrangling that comes with bringing the bosses of 65 different record labels into one space.

Also in this week’s collection: a tragic star-crossed German love story, awkward lo-fi RnB from Hungary, dreamy Catalonian pop, subtle bass exploration from London, brand new Widowspeak, and an inevitably generous clump of fresh Canadian goodness.

Oh, and Julia Holter covering Fleetwood Mac.

See you at the market.

Jon
